Introducing Invest Wise Capital
Scott Kirchner here. Some of you may know me from Vertex Development. Others may know me from Invest Wise Multifamily. Well, Q1 of 2024 has been an absolute sprint for me, and I’m excited to share with you what is new! Let’s first take a step back to where it all started.
In 2017, I was working in a very successful career as a police officer here in Minnesota. I had the privilege of serving my community, neighboring municipalities, and my own agency in a myriad of roles. I was a Field Training Officer, DARE Officer, Field Sobriety Instructor, Commercial Vehicle Inspector, SWAT Operator, Leadership Academy graduate. I genuinely enjoyed my chosen vocation, but began to become interested in real estate investments. I had already been passively investing in others’ deals, so the progression felt natural to pursue this further.
With one child at home already and another on the way, in 2018 I began to pursue my real estate interest further. Because real estate investing is such a broad topic, I worked to hone in on what asset class I wanted to learn. While observing the changing landscape of brick and mortar retail, as well as working spaces evolving, I landed on multifamily. My thought process was simple and has remained steadfast: people always need a place to live. I immersed myself in everything multifamily related and began to educate myself.
In 2019 I made a few large leaps. Many of those leaps were propelled from my experience as a police officer. While managing a particularly tragic incident as the first responding officer, I determined that law enforcement was no longer my 30 year plan. I had a baseline of knowledge and experience to begin pursuing my first acquisition. Simultaneously, I began the work to obtain my graduate certificate in Real Estate Investing. In late 2019, I closed on my first acquisition through Vertex Development, my general partnership company.
As I have continued with my desire to always learn, I have found numerous mentorship courses and offerings. I quickly noticed that most of these educational formats are charging upwards of $50,000 for information that is readily available in our world. Coming from a place of service, I realized that an opportunity exists to better serve others in their pursuit of real estate ownership as a means of investment. As a result, I started Invest Wise Multifamily in late 2023. I will offer online courses and mentorship, without the excessive cost.
That brings me to where I am today. Late last year, I decided to change the name of Vertex Development to Invest Wise Capital. As I worked to align my numerous businesses, I found that Invest Wise Capital was much better suited for my general partnership company.
